HI-REVIEW: COSRX Alcohol Free Centella Toner 🌱

Hi Beauties!

Today I’ll be giving you guys a brief introduction and my personal thoughts on Centella Water Alcohol-Free Toner from COSRX, the Korean skin care brand loved for their mildly, but effectively formulated products.

Price: $19 NZD

Volume: 150ml

Product description: Daily toner enriched with Centella Asiatica Leaf Water which provides relief to irritated skin while replenishing moisture.

This toner is formulated with 82% of mineral water from Jeju Island and 10% of Centella Asiatica Leaf Water. Centella Asiatica Leaf, also known as Cica or Tiger Grass is a trending ingredient in cosmetics industries in Korea for its well known calming and soothing properties. It is also known as a wound-healing herb and it has long been known to have excellent skin improvement effects. Mainly found in Southeast Asia, Centella effectively calms skin irritations with the vitamins and minerals it consists of, not only calming the skin, but it also helps to strengthen the skin’s self-sustaining power.

This toner also contains Butylene Glycol and Sodium Hyaluronate for replenishing moisture to your skin, Panthenol to help strengthen the skin barrier and it contains Allantoin as well, meaning that it could also be helpful in minimizing your enlarged pores.

Also, this toner is formulated alcohol-free and low in pH thus it will never dry out your skin. It also does not have any fragrance or preservatives added so even people with sensitive skin can use this as their daily toner without seeing any irritations.

The product is in a spray type container so it is very handy to use - all you gotta do is just spray a few times directly onto the face evenly and give it a good pat for absorption. It’s got a very light and watery texture so it is easily absorbed onto the skin without leaving any sticky residues behind.

Personal Thoughts

This has been my daily toner for the past two months and my personal experience with the product has been definitely great. I have been using the toner twice a day, morning and night at my toner step after cleansing and I am noticing a conspicuously decreased redness especially on both cheeks compared to the first day of use and it was also very effective in rapidly calming down breakouts whenever I didn’t get enough sleep. My skin gets easily irritated whenever I use something too heavy or harsh ingredient wise, but this has never given me any irritation throughout the whole usage.

I would highly recommend this toner to those who are suffering from redness and acne especially to those with sensitive and oily skin like myself. I recommend keeping this in your bathroom so you can use it right after cleansing to instantly soothe your skin and prevent any moisture loss before you actually move on to your daily skincare routine. Whenever you have breakouts due to external environment stimuli, you could use this toner as a quick soothing treatment by soaking a cotton pad with the toner and leaving the pad on the irritated area on your skin for around 5 minutes. By doing this I was able to feel the affected area quickly calmed and refreshed.

However, this would not be the top pick for anyone with dry skin and are in search of something full of moisture to relieve dryness. Even though it does contain a few moisturising ingredients, due to it’s lightweight and watery texture you might still feel a bit dry even after doing some layering. Instead I would recommend switching your eyes onto gel type toners such as the Supple Preparation Toner from Klairs to achieve dewy, glowy skin.

Thank you for your interest in reading my review, hope my review helped you a little bit in choosing the right toner for you out of the variety of choices out in the market.

    Hi Tasfi!

More so than brightening, this centella toner acts as a skin calming agent to soothe inflamed and sensitive skin.
