The five main ingredients after Water are all mild surfactants:
- Lauryl Glucoside is a very gentle plant-based surfactant made from coconut oil or palm oil and glucose.
- Sodium Cocoyl Alanine is an ultra-mild amino acid-based anionic surfactant derived from L-alanine and coconut fatty acid, delivers dense bubble and good creamy foam in weakly acidic or neutral conditions even in the presence of oil materials.
- Babassuamidopropyl Betaine is an ultra-mild surfactant derived from Babassu Oil.
- Disodium Cocoyl Glutamate is one of the mildest amino acid-based surfactants derived from coconut oil and fermented sugar.
- Sodium lauroyl methylaminopropionate is another mild amino acid-based anionic surfactant.
You get the idea. This shampoo is not only sulfate-free but uses surfactants that are ultra-mild. Amino acid-based surfactants allow the shampoo to have a lower pH level compared with traditional shampoos. In fact, the overall pH of this shampoo is around 5~6, making it an acidic cleanser that’s gentle and non-stripping.
- Take a proper amount on hands and lather up to apply on hair and scalp.
- Massage gently and wash off with flowing water.

Low pH Scalp Shampoo
It is a bit driying for my hair but it stays clean for longer after using it. So that's a big plus for me. I will get a bigger bottle next time.
The shampoo has a slight medicinal herbs scent. It is clear and gel-like. It doesn't froth a lot. I think it has made my scalp a little more stronger - it doesn't hurt as much when I tie my hair and a strand is pulled more tight, making my scalp sore. It has been 2 weeks. I will keep using this and see if it also decreases my grease output (greasy hair dry scalp, if that is even a thing).
My hair has never felt so shiny and healthy. I have sensitive skin and the low ph shampoo has helped to calm my scalp which is often irritated. Hair feels cleaner for longer and has better volume.
I bought this purely because I was looking for a 1 product for my hair. It says it's a shampoo and it conditions as well and it's so true. For years, I would have lots of my hair fall out in the shower but this does not. I love the fact that I no longer need to use conditioner anymore which means that I saved 3 minutes standing in the shower. My hair feels soft for days and healthy. Forever sticking to this shampoo! Also cruelty free and vegan.
