If there’s one thing I enjoyed more than the Paradise Dates on Singles Inferno, it would be the mud wrestling matches! If these scenes got you hyped up too, there’s a new reality TV show that just recently aired on Netflix you need to watch. Physical: 100 is like the mud wrestling matches but, well x100! 100 contestants and 100 times more brutal 💪🏻

It’s definitely unexpected and the first of its kind for K-TV shows but as expected it’s still very much fun and entertaining to watch. The first episode starts out with 100 contestants, male and female all with different physical builds. They are introduced to each other and the viewers with one thing in common - their confidence in physical strength! There are a mix of different career paths each contestant has taken to get to this stage of strength from bodybuilders, firefighters, Olympic gold medalists, gymnasts to dancers. And you may even find some of these faces familiar like fitness Youtuber, Shim Euddeum, Sunmi’s infamous backup dancer, Cha Hyun Seung, and even MMA athlete Choo Sung-hoon.

I don’t want to spoil too much but to give you an idea of the intensity, the first episode starts with two challenges - pre-quest that is followed by round one! The pre-quest wasn’t even the official round but oh my, it was hard to watch. 100 contestants are split up in half so they are just competing with 50 contestants in the pre-quest. Each of the 50 contestants stand on a platform as it rises slowly allowing them to reach a holding pole above them. The rules starting now are simple - the contestant that holds the pole the longest gets an advantage for the official round.

Let me just say don’t underestimate any of them! I was shocked to see some of the contestant’s lasting power and it surprised many of the other contestants too. Even with some of the contestants' past achievements, like being an Olympic medalist or first place in wrestling,, they weren’t able to beat others. The pre-quest wasn’t just about testing their physical strength to hold all their weight up but their mentality too. Some of the contestants gave up right away and some held up to be the one that took first place as the last one standing. To hold all your weight up with just your hands for more than 10 minutes was a feat in itself but the real fist-clenching intensity hasn’t even started! Round one is a wrestling match where two players compete to be the last one holding the ball 😬 Again, rules are kept super simple but what matters is if their strength is able to keep them going!

With two episodes each week, I can’t wait to see all the other games that the production team has planned! The rules are easy to follow but each game setup is so thoughtfully done and really elevates the show to be so much more suspenseful than it sounds. You just really don’t know which contestant's strength will beat each other! I can’t wait to see how this show plays out and who comes out on top as the Physical:100 winner.
