HI-REVIEW: Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Sheet Mask💛

by Grace Zhu

Hi beauties!

Sheet masks are a hit or miss with many, and with me it is a huge hit! I am a sheet mask fiend and like to apply sheet masks 2-3 times a week as it feels extremely therapeutic, is a great way of self-care and obviously improves the condition of my skin. My skin type is combination leaning on oily but it varies depending on the season, so it is really tricky to find products that suit me, however I don’t get much irritation except around my cheek/under eyes, so at least it’s not overly sensitive! Today I’m writing about the Ceramidin Sheet Masks by Dr. Jart+, a renowned brand known by many not just in Korea where the brand is from, but worldwide and even being retailed at stores such as Sephora globally.

Price: $30 ➡️ $26NZD
Quantity: 25g x 5 masks
-
Product description: “Skin friendly nanoskin sheet mask that strengthens skin's natural protective barrier & provide moisture.”
-
How to use:
  1. Cleanse and apply toner.
  2. Peel off, discard the film liner, and apply mask adjusting around eyes and mouth.
  3. Leave on for 10 to 20 minutes.
  4. Remove the mask and gently pat remaining serum until fully absorbed.

The essence is milky and creamy, and the material of the mask is unique. It is made out of nanoskin fiber material and is quite thick/stiff, yet still smooth and flexible enough to fit around the contours of my face.

This hypoallergenic sheet mask contains lots of oils and a lot of skin-friendly ingredients, with a few ingredients that might cause irritation with sensitive skin. However these are found towards the end of the ingredient list, so should be lower on the irritation scale. It is also dermatologist-tested free of 10 harmful ingredients such as parabens, talc, artificial fragrance and more. There are ingredients such as Sunflower seed oil which boosts skin radiance & Panthenol to soothe and hydrate the skin.

But of course the star ingredient of this mask is CERAMIDE. You may have heard of this lipid based ingredient already as it is incredibly popular and prevalent in countless products nowadays, but ceramide is a lipid/fat molecule that is naturally present in high concentrations in our skin cell membranes. Our natural lipids are lost from exposure to harsh environments, using any drying products and ageing, so we need to replenish ceramide levels to better hold skin cells together. It also forms a layer on top of the skin, which allows better retention of moisture and plumps up the skin. In essence, it strengthens our skin barrier and keeps it nice and healthy.

I first fell in love with this sheet mask after getting dry patches around my nose, mouth and forehead due to the changing of seasons. But I heard about the good reviews regarding this mask, and used it in combination with the Balancium Comfort Ceramide Cream and I am NOT exaggerating but all of those dry patches disappeared overnight (I wish I got before & after photos of this but it actually felt like magic). Take note that there is a faint signature fragrance that all products in the Ceramidin line has, and the size fit well everywhere except on my forehead, but I am known to have a larger than average forehead so keep that in mind :)

Overall, I was extremely glad to have found a life-saving sheet mask like this, and I’ll continue to use it whenever I’m getting dry patches, or I feel like my skin barrier is damaged and dry. I really hope our beauties can give this mask a go especially if you have dry skin (and not super sensitive)!!
