How to Use: Apply an appropriate amount of the contents and gently massage and spread across the skin, use before spf during the am or after your pm skincare. 

While this product contains a fantastic mix of ingredients, the one that stands out the most is definitely Houttuynia Cordata, also known as Heartleaf. This plant has a long history of use in traditional medicine, and for good reason.

The primary active components in this plant are called flavonoids, giving Heartleaf anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antibacterial skincare benefits. These are amazing to strengthen skin barriers (a MUST for all skin types) and keep redness, acne or irritation at bay. If that’s not enough, this is also combined with 4 types of Centella Asiatica, a popular soothing ingredient used in K-beauty skincare.

Of course, you’ll find moisturising ingredients too - Betaine, Panthenol and Glucose making up Anua’s ‘Triple Moisture Layer’ system. This ensures skin maintains rich moisture and hydration for a long time.

Personal Review

After trialling various moisturisers, I was immediately taken aback by this moisturiser's gel-like texture. I had expected it to provide less moisture compared to my thicker creams, but I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it outperformed all of my thicker winter creams. 

Upon initial application, I was pleasantly surprised by the sudden surge of moisture that enveloped my face. This moisturiser absorbed rapidly and left my skin feeling smooth, reducing redness. In fact, each application made me feel as if I had just received a facial. 

The most remarkable changes I observed were the significant improvements in my acne-prone and sensitive skin. It was perfect timing as I was experiencing some hormonal breakouts when I received the product, providing an ideal opportunity to test it. On the first day, I had two large pimples developing, causing considerable discomfort. During my evening routine, I applied an appropriate amount to my forehead and the rest of my face.

The following morning, I noticed that the blind pimples on my forehead had reduced in size and the pain had diminished. Fast-forward to the 14th day, my skin appeared much clearer compared to day one. Although I still have acne scars, this cream has certainly helped alleviate my overall redness and minimise my acne. 

To conclude, the Anua Heartleaf 70 Soothing Cream has not only been a monthly fav, it has definitely won a place in my skincare favourites. To those Beauties looking for a soothing hydrating moisturiser for this season, this product is definitely worth looking into.
