I recently changed up and added new products to my skincare routine, specifically focusing on hydration and moisturization. We’re gonna talk about one of those products in this review, and that is the Rovectin’s Barrier Repair Face Oil. I’m super excited to try this because I love facial oils, and this is the first product that I’ve ever tried from this brand.
Rovectin is a Korean brand that focuses on developing high-quality products with restorative properties and ingredients inspired by nature for you to radiate confidence!
Price: $41 NZD
Rovectin Barrier Repair Face Oil is designed with gentle botanicals that nourishes the skin, including neroli oil, and antioxidant Vitamin E.
How to use:
After cleansing, dispense 2-3 drops of oil on your palms, then gently pat oil on your face with hands cupped, using the warmth of your palms to help your skin absorb the oil. You may also use a dropper to distribute oil on your face and gently pat to absorb.
If you want to add a bit more hydration to your moisturiser, mix the Barrier Repair Oil and moisturiser at 1:1 ratio and apply to your face after cleansing.
Contains antioxidants like Vitamin E that repairs the skin and strengthens it from the inside out. It also contains Squalane which is great for hydration, suppleness, and skin barrier support.
Contains Neroli oil which has a subtle aroma that eases tension and melts away stress, a common cause of skin imperfections.
Hypoallergenic, toxin-free, and cruelty-free
100% free from paraben, artificial colourants, artificial fragrances, mineral oil, and steroids.
Right off the bat, I could tell that this facial oil was going to become a fave. Why? Because I absolutely adore facial oils. It helped me a lot when I was struggling with acne, acne scars, skin texture and hyperpigmentation during my uni days. I find that even for oily/acne-prone skin, using a facial oil is amazing for the skin if you find the right one. And this facial oil is no different!
It's only 30ml, but I’m telling you, this is enough to last you for months or even a year if you use it consistently because you only need 3-4 drops. It also has a herbal scent that I didn’t find overpowering at all. It also doesn’t feel heavy at all compared to some facial oils I’ve tried in the past.
I use this mostly at night because I don’t have the time in the morning to wait for it to sink in. I have two ways of applying this: mixing it with moisturizer or on its own. When I use it on its own, I tend to massage my face for 2-5 minutes to make sure the product sinks in and just to give my skin a little TLC. If you find it to be too oily, uncomfortable, or time-consuming, applying a few drops to your moisturizer lessens the feeling.I also love how this facial oil fits into my current skincare routine since it didn’t make any of my other products I applied beforehand peel.
With such gentle ingredients, this facial oil also didn’t irritate my skin at all. After weeks of using it, my skin looks glowing and smooth like a glazed donut! It smoothed out my skin texture and even reduced the appearance of acne and acne scars. Also, it kept my skin super hydrated and moisturized!
Overall, I would recommend this product to every skin type, especially with dry skin. Facial oils are an amazing addition to your routine if your moisturizer isn’t enough to keep your skin hydrated and moisturized. They also have additional benefits depending on what skin concern you want to tackle. However, this facial oil goes down to the very basics. With it’s hydration and moisturising benefits, it helps my skin be in the healthiest state no matter the season.
