Hi-Review: Heimish Matcha Biome Hydrogel Eye Patch
You might be one of those people that love to drink a delicious cup of matcha tea, but have you ever tried using matcha on your skin? It has some amazing benefits and when it’s in the form of cooling under-eye patches, like the Heimish Matcha Biome Hydrogel Eye Patches, it can be super easy to use too!
Price: $27
Quantity: 60pcs
How to use: After cleansing, place the eye patch on the desired facial area using the enclosed spatula. Remove after 20-30 mins.
I’m always on the lookout for under-eye products as my under-eye area tends to look quite sunken and discoloured. So when I was given the chance to review these patches I was super stoked to give them a try, especially since I’ve tried the Heimish Bulgarian Rose Hydrogel Eye Patches and I can now say that I definitely prefer the Matcha ones (mini comparison coming soon!).
Key Features
The patches themselves are made from “100% eco-friendly hydrogel made of sea plants” so it means they are water soluble which I think is awesome. I put this claim to the test and soaked a couple in water for about five minutes, and whilst they didn’t dissolve completely, they did get a lot thinner. I think if they were soaked for longer they would completely dissolve which is amazing!
The patches also contain Jeju-grown probiotics, enzymes and matcha extracts, making them great for balancing bacteria on your skin, which in turn helps to strengthen your skin barrier. Matcha itself contains methylxanthines, which are natural-found substances shown to help stimulate microcirculation in the skin. On top of all that, these patches contain lots of soothing and calming ingredients such as niacinamide, glycerin, rosemary, peppermint and lavender.
Personal Opinion
I’ve been using these patches for around a month and I’ll be the first to say that, in my opinion, these are so much better than the Bulgarian Rose Hydrogel Patches! Firstly, they don’t have any scent, which meant they were gentler on my sensitive eyes (Side note: I also can’t stand the smell of roses, so these were a fab alternative!). Secondly, I found that they weren’t as slippery as the Rose Patches. When using these eye patches they were super easy to keep in place - if you’ve used eye patches before, you probably know that they have a habit of sliding down your face if you don’t keep an eye on them. However, these stayed put, even if I was talking or even eating!
I also love the cooling effect these have on my under eyes. I store mine in the fridge so I can get a lil’ extra cooling effect when I use them, and they honestly work wonders on my first-thing-in-the-morning extremely puffy eyes.
Heimish claims that these patches help to ‘brighten dark circles’. I personally haven’t noticed any difference in the colour of my under-eye circles, but I have noticed a big difference in the texture and hydration, and overall feel of the skin around my eyes, which I love.
These hydrogel patches are my new favourite under-eye treatment and I’m excited to try out the other products in Heimish’s Matcha line!
