HI-REVIEW: Acwell Real Aqua Balancing Cream

by Kate Garside

Hi Beauties!

Has anyone else’s skin been feeling this way, or is it just me? The recent changes in temperature has really been playing games on my skin. I seem to go from having dry patches to an oily t-zone and then back to severely dehydrated skin within a couple of days. So I've been on a mission to find the perfect balancing, moisturising cream! So let's see if the Acwell Real Aqua Balancing Cream will do the trick.

Price: $41

Quantity: 50ml

How to use: After using toner or serum, take an adequate amount of Acwell Real Aqua Balancing Cream on your palm then, gently apply it onto the face and neck. Lightly pat for skin absorption.

Product Features

The Acwell Real Aqua Cream claims to be a “moisturiser…specially formulated for dry, dull, and sensitive skin types.” That will help to reverse the signs of ageing, smoothen texture, and give you younger looking skin whilst also being non-oily. The secret to this cream’s super hydrating abilities can be found in the ingredient list. This cream contains a high quantity of Glycerin (hello hydration!), Hyaluronate (hello hydration x 2!) and a scary sounding ingredient called “PEG-10 Dimethicone”. Which isn’t actually scary at all and is known for its skin conditioning abilities!

The combination of these three super ingredients (and a whole heap of other awesome ingredients) is what makes this cream so good at keeping your skin looking moisturised and plump!

Personal Opinion

I have loved and trusted Acwell ever since their Liquorice PH Balancing Cleansing Toner hit the shelves (if you haven’t tried it yet, do it!) so I was excited to try more of their products. I found this cream really interesting and there were some things I loved about it, and other things I wasn't so keen about. So let’s break it down.

What I love about this cream is that it is ridiculously hydrating. It gives my skin a very plumped effect and I feel like it makes me look very glowy and fresh. It also is very easy to apply and doesn’t have a scent at all, meaning it could be good for beauties that struggle to use moisturisers containing fragrance. I also feel like this is really reasonably priced for such a big jar of product, and a little goes a long way so it lasts a really long time!

When doing my skincare I usually use a hydrating serum before applying my moisturiser, but this cream is so hydrating I don't need to apply a serum at all! Thanks to the licorice root it contains it also seems to brighten up the darker areas of my skin. It doesn’t improve them immediately but it does seem to gradually lighten and brighten duller discoloured areas.

What I'm not so keen on is this cream does contain oil, mainly Squalene and Citrus Aurantium Bergamia Fruit Oil. Both of these ingredients are in fairly small doses but for someone with an oily t-zone like me, I found that the squalene makes this cream feel heavier around the oilier areas of my face and that those areas also get a lot oilier a lot quicker.

Overall, I think this is a fab moisturiser and if you’re someone who doesn’t have time to do a 5 step skincare routine, this is the moisturiser for you. I feel like this would also be amazing for beauties with dry, sensitive or normal skin. It’s definitely a must-have during colder months too! ❄
