Halloween costumes for the chronically online, terminally unorganised and creatively uninspired divas. Approximately 12 hours before you need it, thank me later.
Halloween is TOMORROW… it's time to turn whatever's in your wardrobe into a costume and hope someone gets the totally generic and underwhelming resemblance to a vampire, pirate or angel.
If you're not feeling the cat ears gathering dust, the last pair of $8 devil horns from Look Sharp or a repeat of last year’s witch situation, here’s five slightly more niche, less same-same options for the girls who get it.
Solo or doubling with your BFF, take your pick:
Simple, iconic, but not too generic. White school shirt, black or navy jacket, that pleated skirt you loved in 2022, knee-high white socks, a red bow (perfect for Christmas in two months), old white sneakers and Bob’s your uncle.
Black wig with a fringe and a quick DIY of her iconic weapon totally optional but highly encouraged - a handbag with a silver chain will suffice if anything.
If your friend’s equally committed to the bit: a white wrap dress, robe or cinch a shirt and a chic bun with a pair of chopsticks for O-Ren will do the trick! Together, you’ll bring the vision together and serve schoolgirl chic meets poised elegance… with a side of homicidal tendencies.
I’m going to live my life yearning for another live performance from queen Zara - she's actually unreal. Someone please do me a favour and be her this Halloween: something micro, anything sparkly, a fun heel and an iconic eye will do the trick.
If you've had Stateside on repeat, this is your sign to recreate it with your bestie! Y2K has been back since forever so an itty bitty fit will be tucked in your closet somewhere and you can coordinate your looks, learn a TikTok or two and look totally cute for those Instagram pics.
If you live on the internet in the big 2026, everyone and their mother’s mother will know about Punch the monkey and his soulmate, the IKEA DJUNGELSKOG orangutan plushie! He stole our hearts worldwide, and you can too.
Keep it simple with your cutest brown outfit, fur coat (very practical) and DIY ears, or have a little laugh with a LookSharp onesie - the world’s your oyster and we’re all here to adore you!
The plushie is also a very important person, so don’t even think about forgetting her for a second - get your soulmate to twin but in orange, or invest in the beloved plushie for your own wellbeing! Who says you can’t rock Halloween in comfort and style?
For the chronically online, aggressively nostalgic and seriously unserious. Iykyk, and if they don’t, your friends don’t get you like I do honey. Low effort and highly obtainable: your old unwashed zip up jacket with the holes in it, your dad’s blue button-up shirt and a grey wig (...maybe some dry toothpaste would also help).
The rest comes down to character - a vacant, thousand-yard stare, tech neck, and aura of a man who’s seen things.
Now obviously, this costume is even better if you have someone with you because what is a grandpa without 1 quart of paint? That said, this still works pretty well if you’re going solo.
For the dedicated BTS loving friend with a big heart, elite humour and a long fostered love for Junkook through thick and thin.
Raid the wardrobe for anything black, sport a messy side part, smudgy eyeliner and a silver chain to suggest you’re going through something - the bigger the better, for comical effect of course.
Because two is better than one and the more the merrier, flip this into a duo or make it a squad moment with each member of your favourite boy group; RM’s neon yellow hair, Slick-min, Taehyung the ladybug, you catch my drift.
Costume crisis averted, you’re welcome - now go raid your wardrobe, text the group chat and prepare for that niche accessory run! Halloween waits for no one, so let’s get busy.
Thank me later, Beauties x
