Fashion is art, and the Met Gala 2026 delivered exactly that - especially when Blackpink stepped onto the carpet as soloists for the very first time.
This year's theme, "Fashion is Art", has brought out some of the most sculptural and experimental looks we've seen yet. But all eyes were on Blackpink, who each attended separately, making a rare moment where fans got to see their individualities unfold on one of fashion's biggest stages.
Here's our ranking of their looks - from elegant to unforgettable:
Rosé arrived in a custom YSL look that leaned into her signature black colour. While the dress was beautiful and the styling polished, the overall execution and vibe felt too safe for a Met Gala moment.
It's classic Rosé - graceful, minimal, and angelic. But compared to the boldness of that night, it didn't quite push enough boundaries to stand out.
This met gala marks Jennie's fourth consecutive Met Gala appearance. Jennie stepped out in Chanel, wearing a sequin dress that was chic, polished, and very "Jennie-coded." While this look is undeniably jaw-dropping and on theme, this look seemed to be too safe and honestly, forgettable.
Lisa brought full avant-garde energy in a daring, architectural look that instantly turned heads. Known for her fearless fashion choices, she didn’t disappoint - even incorporating 3D-printed elements into the design, including sculpted arm detailing.
It was bold, conceptual, and in my opinion, the most on theme. The only thing holding it back slightly was the colour palette, which could’ve added even more impact to an already striking silhouette.
Last but not least, Jisoo takes the top spot with a look that perfectly captured the theme “Fashion is Art.” Her outfit delivered a stunning combination of rich colours, intricate sequins, and a beautifully styled hair moment that elevated the entire presentation.
For her first-ever Met Gala appearance, this was a flawless debut: elegant, confident, and memorable in every way. It’s rare for a first appearance to feel this complete, but she absolutely nailed it.
Seeing all four Blackpink members attend the Met Gala as soloists felt iconic in itself. Each brought a completely different interpretation of fashion, from safe elegance to full conceptual drama.
